Sorry I missed the previous post on this. I'm in Fayetteville, GA and would definately be interested if you were to be sending invites on another woodfire!
Is Westville a school, art center, what?
Also of some interest for you might be the new Georgia Clay Council. Check out the website www.georgiaclaycouncil.com . The web site is in progress. Great workshops and program/presentations, exclusive shows are in the works.
Happy Fires!

I have already posted this but wanted to put it under another heading for
anyone scanning for information on wood firing. I am firing the ground hog
kiln at Westville in Lumpkin Ga. this Saturday if the weather is good.
Lumpkin is 35 miles south of Columbus. Any one that wants to throw wood in,
come on. tell them at the gate. It is all day and into the night. If you
just want to see it come, too.

It is this Saturday. I need help firing. Westville is a historic village
representing 1850 Ga. I have a few freinds that help me but it helps to
have more. It is usually a goo bit of fun and a lot of flame. It is a
modified ground hog kiln built by D. X. Gordy.

Finished firing early, 8:00, 8:30.p.m. Rigged a shop vac to deliver
soda/whiting mixture, over 20 lbs. for a 130 cubic foot kiln. Saggers and
shelves fell over up front. Flattened cone twelve up front. Volotility
often means loss mixed with great effects. Pine slabs in the beginning, oak
and poplar pallet wood to finish up. Thanks to John Brinley, I made it
through. I forgot to closre suirrell hole, so prefire logs were down to
oven heat when I started at 6:45 a.m.

Stephen,
Post a message with attachments or a site address. I'd love to see the results. Sounds like the old adage "hard work pays off"....put me there.
