Hello Clayarters,
Yesterday I treated my class to two CDs that had them jumping. The
James Brown Mellinium CD and _The Chess Records Story_ Volume 1 (Which
has no song newer than 1955!) JB had them dancing and the Chess Record
Story left them in Awe of Rock and Roll/Blues from the late 40's and
early 50's. The Chess Records Story is made up of songs that were
popular on the Juke boxes of Juke Joints in the 40's and 50's by Chess
Records artists. If you can find it check it out. I got mine in a
hardware store in Naruto, Tokushimia, Japan for $9.50 (New!) I kept
looking for Volume 2 and 3 and so on. Never found it. I did find out
that it can be ordered here in the US, but the songs are somewhat
different on the US versions.
