I have tried using Ron's black out of the book. On standard 112 it crawled
off some places. Tried it on Ellen and it crawled in places also.
Used two medium coats.
What am I doing wrong?

Some people seem to have this problem and others
not, but I find that this glaze will not tolerate double
layering. Did you notice the raw glaze coat cracking as
it dried? If so, a remedy is to calcine a third to a half of
the clay content, which reduces the wet-to-dry
shrinkage. Also, be sure to let the glaze dry thoroughly
before firing, as firing wet can exacerbate the problem.

I also had touble with the black. Had to get just the right thickness or it
would crack when it dried and then crawled. The fix was to calcine half the
EPK. I can now use as thick or thin and double coat or use it over or under
other glazes without any problem.
