Hi,
I have a question about whether it's OK to apply a flashing slip under a
glaze for wood firing. I am planning to glaze the inside of bowls, and
leave the outside with flashing slip only. It would be convenient to apply
the flashing slip before bisquing, then when I apply the glaze I would be
able to sponge off any glaze drips without affecting the slip.
Is it OK to dip the whole bowl in the flashing slip, or should I just apply
slip to the outside? Would the underlying flashing slip affect a shino or
celadon? My clay is white-ish stoneware.
Thanks in advance for your advice,
