Hi all,
I have a friend just learning to bisk and glaze fire(^9) in an electric
kiln with controller.

Anyone willing to give me bisk firing and glaze firing guidelines for
her?
She glaze fired using the info from the manual and the kiln got to ^9
in 7 hours. She hasn't tried firing down, but I suggested it. I'm
guessing 150/hr fire down but does she need to let the kiln drop a bit
before firing down?

I've suggested Ron and John's book even though she fires higher than
^6.

Jennifer, whose gas kiln experience isn't much help.....and my electric
kiln has knobs...

As a rule of thumb when using the ramp-hold mode of a digital
controller: Program the last 100°F of temperature rise at a rate of
108°F per hour. This is for firing to a pyrometric cone.
