Hi Mary,

Has it a three position 'toggle' switch?

Whose center position is neutral-off for the Motor?

Some Wheels do...and...it could make just the symptom you
describe...'Light' is on and nothing else happens...

Dear Mary,

You might open your foot pedal-I bet the adjustment nut came unscrewed, or
something is disconnected in there. Just a thought.

I had an older Pacifica that died awhile back. I ended up buying a new
control box and pedal. Not cheap but way better than a new wheel. The
good thing was I got the advantages of the newer box with the reversing
feature on the switch instead of the plug. I think maybe it was a power
surge that killed it, but that's just a guess.

I used my wheel Sunday but on Monday it was dead. The power light is
on but nothing else happens. The only thing I could think of was to
unplug the connectors from the pedal to the control panel and the one
from the wheel to the motor and plug them back in tight. That didn't
work.

Any suggestions? My wheel is a 20+ year old Pacifica but has not been
heavily used at all. It wasn't doing anything unusual recently, no
wierd noises, smoke, nothing.

Hi Mary
Did you check to see if the o-ring drive belts were ok.. My
pacifica wheels motors are so quiet that i can hardly here the motor run
when belts are removed from the pulleys. I did this when i serviced the
drive pulley that came loose from the motor shaft
when i had first received the wheel new from factory. It must have been
assembled on a Friday or something because the set screw had never been
tightened to the shaft. Other than that you may need to send the drive out
to be serviced. There is a fuse in the drive but you need to be familiar
with electronics repair if you try to attempt this yourself. If you do this
yourself give mel a call and maybe he will let you use his strobe light to
do the final tune-up..TEE HEE..That is unless its ferret driven... Good luck.

Hey there check and see if your fuse is blown. That is what is wrong when
my wheel does that. You have to take the motor cover off to see. I keep a
few on hand just in case.

Have a sunshine day

Mary, if the light is on you are getting power to the wheel and the
power supply is most likely functioning. Before you do anything else get
down on the floor and look up under the table of the wheel where the motor
is mounted. Look at the pulley on the end of the shaft sticking out of the
top of the motor. Is the belt attached? If the foot pedal is depressed is
the pulley spinning?
If the pulley is not spinning then if you are lucky is it a simple
reostat adjustment in your foot pedal. Take the bottom off of the pedal and
look inside. There should be a coupla adjustment screws, one for low and one
for high speed. Try turning them a bit and see if that works.
If neither works be absolutely certain that the cord going from the
pedal to the power supply assembly is connected well. I believe those older
Pacificas had a plug that would reverse. Mine is only about 10 years old and
has a three position toggle switch on the side of the power supply assembly.
The middle position is no go (check to be sure), up forward, down reverse.
Hope this helps

Many thanks to Ann, Craig, Fadra, Phil, John Darlene & Brian, who all
sent me suggestions for resuscitating my wheel.

This morning I decided to implement some of your suggestions,
starting with! checking fuses which sounded like the simplest thing
to begin with.

But first I thought I better just wiggle those connections one more
time so I could rule them out competely. Well, you guessed it!
Although I'd being going through this exercise every day since
Monday, I wiggled that plug where the wire from the pedal comes in by
the on-off switch and zoom, she was spinning!

But I've saved all your messages in my "Dead Wheel" folder in case it
happens again and the plug-wiggling really doesn't work.
