For any Clayarters in the Southern New England/Boston area who are =
looking for an excuse to come to Cape Cod this weekend, the Upper Cape =
Cod Potters' soon-to-be-annual Holiday Studio Tour will be happening =
this Saturday and Sunday, the 15th and 16th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each =
day. About a dozen potters in the Falmouth/Bourne/Sandwich/Marstons =
Mills area did our first tour last June, on a horrendously wet and cold =
weekend. Still, people came out to buy pots and we're hoping for even =
better attendance (and especially better weather) this weekend.
The work available in this small area at the edge of the Atlantic ranges =
from anagama-fired pots to wonderful slipware and sgraffito work, to =
smoke-fired and raku pots to pots glazed with mud from deep beneath the =
world's oceans. Nice people, too. And probably some holiday cookies and =
coffee or hot cider, given the time of year.
For more information and a brochure with a map and brief descriptions, =
call me at 508-563-1948 or e-mail me at hengley@cape.com.
