I do have a BlueBird 440 for sale. Though=20
it's maybe 7 years old, it hasn't been
used more than a few dozen times
since my clay up to this time has
been purchased ready-to-go. When I
recycled, which was often, I usually
wedged my
clays by hand to take advantage of
the strength-building
opportunities as well as a desire to
creep up the learning curve in clay....
And, truth be told, I knew even less
about mechanical gymnastics then
than I do now ....=20
It IS a de-airing pugmill and is likely a
good one but the de-airing process
always seemed too slow to me .... so I'd
just run the clay through a couple of
times rather than de-air. I'm sure that
I never gave it a chance to perform to
capability.
The pugmill is presently sitting in the open
outside my studio ....... just hangin'..... not
employed ...... unappreciated ... sort of
wrapped in tattered
plastic with a couple of pots from the Ugly
PotSpot doing a poor job of holding down
the pitiful mess ..... and sharing the=20
shame of Gross
Neglect alongside the 100 pounds of gerstley
borate I also seldom use (which is Not for
Sale, I hasten to add.)
To compound its Dire Straits, it's
been replaced with a proud pugilist
of a Peter Pugger, which I love....=20
oughta be ashamed .... but there
ya' go....... another example of my
own Fickle Nature. PP has stolen
my heart.... and doesn't mind that I
don't know diddly.
If you'd like to rescue this BlueBird, make me
an offer ...... you'd have to come to the
desert to pick it up........ and promise not to
complain if something goes wrong. I'm
busy caregiving these days..... the studio is
more or less neglected at the moment ....
and the house has been turned into a
raceway for one of those Lil' Rascal
scooters to allow #1 Support Person as much
access as possible .......
so there wouldn't be much of a tour in the offing..
I MIGHT consider a cuppa tea from some
magnificent teabowls or mugs
(Jack Troy, the mayor's,
Craig Martel's, Connie's and many others. The
last person who used Bacia's broke it, drat it!)
Might even scrounge up an Oreo or two IF
you're very lucky. Might not, too.
Whatever, I would definitely give you a showing of
my Clayart Collection which is stupendous.

In the Mojave wondering what today will hold.
Casey should be here with the part for the
furnace ... his dad was a friendly
acquaintance .... proud=20
owner&breeder of 200 miniature ponies on
his place out in the desert.... owned and
ran the local shoe store where all children's
feet were treated like the treasures that=20
they were & meant to last for a lifetime....
his family came out here when we were still
known as Crumbsville .... now it's Ridgecrest....
no ridge....... no crest.... only unworthy
heathens such as I (as Mama Luce reminded
me often.....)
