and, the best part of the story is that
she is a very educated, well healed, doctor.
they put the teapot on the stove with
an asbestos pad under it.
turned the stove to low, and heated the water.
added fresh tea leaves and served. it sorta did
it's thing every day.
all three of her sons were potters with me
at hopkins high.
it was just one of those things that happen.
they started using it that way, and just
kept the process going. i traded the pot for a new one.
they are all terrific people, and should have
known better, but, it worked fine for over twenty
years.
amazing.
