Hi All,
A recent discussion got me thinking about the subject of labeling items
for sale. Since I make mostly non-food related things (sculpture and
vases) I haven't given a lot of thought to what goes on a label for
functional ware. Just out of curiosity what do most of you put on your
labels? Content? Instructions? microwave/oven, etc.-safe?, potter's
bio? Don't place directly on open flame? Anything else I may not have
thought of?
Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this as I am back into making
functional ware again, making sure my glazes are food-safe, ec.

Hi Laurie,
Great web site. I just wanted to write and say hi....since we are almost neighbors, I'm in South Lake Tahoe. Do you ever make it up this way? We just opened a ceramic co-op here. I have a studio and kiln at my house and I sell my work to interior design galleries. I was so happy to see that you also make masks. I have not seen a lot of artists making one of a kind masks, so I have not been able to look at different pieces and prices to compare. If you don't mind my asking, how much do your masks retail for? Do you have a lot of people asking for them? I started out making masks about 9 years ago, they sell OK, but I also make other pieces that sell a lot better.
Well, I just wanted to introduce myself, there is a link to my web site below. I always love feedback.
Take care,
Stacey Ballard

I do this also (list only the price) but does anyone really know if this
legally covers problems a customer may have with the piece?
