there has been a lot of discussion about medical insurance & costs.

just thought i'd share my experience of getting prescription meds from
canada.

i take a med that costs about $160 a month in the us. or about $1920 a
year. there is no generic equivalent, and cheaper alternative meds have
not been effective for me.

i don't have prescription insurance... the coverage would cost about $65
a month, with a $250 / year deductible, then only cover 50% of
"allowable" costs. not a great deal. especially since i may have to
take the med for only 4 months.

and the drug companies have programs to help the financially needy...
but the income limits are set below social security benefits.

sigh.

so - i get my meds from canada.

it's been a great experience.

my costs are $63 a month for the meds plus $15 handling.

now, that's a savings.

i filled out a form, faxed it & prescription toll-free...

they contacted my doc, called me & shipped the meds.

this is a time-release med. in the us, i get a pill container of
capsules.

from canada, i get these easy-to-pop foil blister cards, with the days
of the week printed on the foil, so even i can't forget if i took one.
and they are time-release pills... easier for me to swallow.

they even called me back 1 week later, to see how i was doing, did i
have any questions, etc.

and they have auto refill / mail option.

great service.

unbelievable that some of our politicians want to make this illegal.
