I'll say this again - there are two kinds of fat when taliking about glazes.
One is the mutton fat or magnesia type - butter fat (greasy) feeling glazes
- yes - usually semi opake or opake.
The term fat is also used to describe a glaze with "body" covering the clay
well, cannot feel the clay under it - lots of depth - silica rich. They can
be clear, semi opake or opake. Well balanced glazes that have a good
melting range - are probably durable and feel great on a handle.
