'I think David Frith in England ball mills his glaze for lengthy
periods and a cone 10 glaze matures at something like a cone or 2 lower
because of particle size. His glazes are awesome.'

We were fortunate to have David and his wife at the North Carolina Potters Conference
a couple years ago ... and indeed, he ball mills every ingredient of his glazes to a very
fine consistency and has been able to lower his firings by 2 cones and produce the same
or better results. The physics of increased surface area.

Chris Campbell - in North Carolina - resting now, last kiln fired till next year ... one of the
perks of selling wholesale ... everybody wants the work in their store before
Thanksgiving.
