Christie, What type of wqax did you use? If it was the water-based wax you
probably didn't let it dry long enough. I've found it's better to let it dry
overnight if possible, rather than just puting it on and glazing
immediately.
The glaze won't stick as much and if it does it's easy to remove with a damp
sponge. As you found out, if it's there's glaze on the wax going into the
kiln there will be glaze on the piece when it comes out.

If you are using hot wax try increasing the temp. I get a smoother surface
and the glaze usually slides off.
