easy place to put up photos

On a related subject, many ISPs give a free amount of web space on
their server with an account. There are many easy to use photo album
programs that will allow you to make thumbnails of photos which you
can click to enlarge. As a mac user, I decided to try Web Album
Wizard. As I remember it was $20, but there may be free ones out
there too (especially if you use a PC) It takes about 30 seconds to
show 50 thumbnails on a webpage and gives you a place to have text
too. Once you have gone through the procedure, it is very fast to set up
and not difficult to delete an item using FTP sofware. You do need a
small FTP program to upload to the server. This used to be free on
the mac, but now there is a small fee to purchase the "FTP" program
called "Fetch". You can view Web Album Wizard by going to my
ikebana vase website at http://gordward.home.mindspring.com/ and
click on the "gallery". Incidentally, the homepage was created using
Earthlink's free on line software called Trellix, also quite user friendly -
no manuals needed, just poke around and try things.

Greetings all,

First let me thank Mr. Lee Love for providing the info for Photo Bucket.

My Judy and I have been trying to figure out how to get a website up for
some time. Which led to registering our Domain, which led to buying Front
Page, which led to ordering "Front Page for Dummies", which hasn't arrived
yet. Did I mention I am not a computer wiz? I'm a potter, but with
computers I am getting better. Judy knows 5 times as much as me, but I'm
learning.

Any way, after mentioning my raku to clayart for a couple of years, I have
begun to wonder if any one might be becoming skeptical that I make pots at
all! I mean, except for the few of you that have found my work at ebay,
I'm thinking that without a website, probably none of you have ever seen an
image of my work. This is why I am greatful to Lee for clueing us in on
the Photobucket website.

I checked it out as soon as I read Lee's post. It is very straight
forward. I registered, and put up a a bunch of 2003's pots. Turns out
that was the easy part. Now that I am about to copy the URL of the images
of my pots to the Clay art community, I find that I am nervous as hell!! My
head keeps telling me that I have perused dozens of fellow Clayarters pots,
from Newbies to the most seasoned pros, so whats the big deal? Still, I've
got butterflies, like I'm handing in the big science test in Junior high or
maybe going to skydive for the first time! Jeeze!! Get a grip! I mean,
my stuff must be at least ok, since it sells, I tell my self.

So, anyway, here it is. Heart and soul. My life for the last 7 years, my
blood and sweat, and taking the time to read clayart every day for the last
4 years (THANKS CLAYART, EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU, I COULDN'T HAVE DONE
THIS WITHOUT YOU!!!!!!) these pots are the result. I don't think they are
great. I know I've a long way to go. I can look at each and everyone of
them and tell you exactly why it didn't quite meet my expectation. Be it
form, or glaze concept, or glaze defect, or whatever, they are never quite
the way I wish. So back to the wheel. Back to the kiln shed. Back to the
glaze room and Ohaus triple beams. Like I said, my life.

To see the pots, go here:

I want to be the kind of person that can handle constructive critisism, so
good bad or indifferent, comments are welcome.

Of course, we will continue working on our website, but untill then-------

Best Regards

Leland,

Your work must make you feel proud! My favorites are 5, 22, 26, and it's a
tie between 38 and 40 which are forms I always end up buying.

Congratulations on your web page. Maybe one of these days, I too shall take
the plunge.

Photos at the yahoo groups clayart site reduce space for the message
archives.
