Subject: A day trip to NY Metropolitan museum .
Hello friends,
I am organizing a day trip to New York to see an exhibit "Turning Point:
Oribe and the Arts of Sixteenth-Century Japan" at the Metropolitan Museum
and after a few hours of cultural excursion at the museum, we will stop by
at the Mitsuwa Marketplace(Japanese Grocery) to New Year shopping. I hope to
accomplish two big items in one trip. Anyone wishes to join in my bus ride?
This bus will be filled by mostly Japanese people. You have to listen lots
of Japanese
For me, the main purpose of this trip is to see the Exhibition and the
shopping is the secondary, however, we are getting a kickbacks from Mitsuwa
by going there in a 40 people group to reduce our bus fee, you need to be a
sport about going along. So why not take advantage of this rather pleasant
bunch of friends going to New York!. Ride along and do your New Year
shopping at one trip. As you might know, the Mitsuwa Marketplace is the
biggest Japanese shopping market. They said " We have everything you can buy
in Japan".
We are chartering one big bus large enough to transport almost 60 people.
If I can gather 40 people we can get a good deal.
Please read on the detail and if you like to join, let me know soon. We
will take first 40 people so that we will have a comfortable ride to NY. We
need to have enough space to put what we buy at Mitsuwa!.
Tentatively:
Date: Dec 27th(Sat)
Departure: 6.30 from Virginia
Fee: $25.00 round trip
Arrive Metropolitan Museum at 12.00
We will see the exhibition till 2.50
Arrive at Mitsuwa at 3.30
Depart NJ 6.30 or 6.45
Arrive Virginia at 10.30 or 11.00 ish

We will see the below exhibition at the museum:
Turning Point: Oribe and the Arts of Sixteenth-Century Japan
October 21, 2003-January 11, 2004
The Sackler Wing Galleries for the Arts of Japan

Learn more about this exhibition.

As Louise Cort, the curator of Freer said "I've seen the show several
times now - wonderful pots!", you will get a lot from seeing this show.
