I rinse my ash, pinon tree, with water (though softened with salt) about 4
times. The ash that I use is sprinkled by hand or sieved onto pots. I enjoy the
powder dust ash, and it's resulting residual on the ceramics.
Concrete/cement companies buy ash from various outlets, but are fairly
particular in the origin of the ash. Desiring a vitrified mix of silicates and
aluminates with small quanities of ferro-silicates and aluminates.
