Since we were asked. Pursuant to my belief (experience reinforced) that =
any glaze recipe is in the here and now --not so glaze formulae-- and =
will not come out "like that" in ten years, I feel that one should honor =
one's Masters and pass on their glazes with their name. So if Inuse or =
pass on a Hobart Cowles glaze that is where I got it; I may have had to =
adjust it. Glazes I have concocted are named for loved ones.
Here are two glazes I hasve from SAC, c.1952
Cornwall Stone 24.80
ZnO 8.81
Clay 6.40
Whiting 20.41
Buckingham Spar 5.45
Flint 6.54
Feldspar 40
Kaolin 19
Whiting 5
Dolomite 7.5
Flint 15
Ash 28
Ochre 6
Fe203 5
both supposedly c6
I have no idea would these work today. Was the whiting then purer" Was =
the Cornwall different--it all is a guess within a vast and changing =
ballpark. =20
