All the 05 recioes I can find either call for lead, or for a boral frit. =
Hint: Others trod that road before you....
Singer offers some recipes for MAKING boral frits in the US Borax =
publication Ceramic Glazes. No idea if they still have it...You could =
not make the frit but you could guide yourself into a recipe with it.
You can approximate Colemanite or a frit like F3134 with borax, soda ash =
(washing soda) and clay and flint. How successful this would be I =
cannot tell, because both soda ash and borax would shrink like blazes; =
and frits, of course, are "pre-shrunk." Someone who knows --I =
don't--can tell you if you can calcine borax and soda ash and if that =
will work--or if they turn into rock and will need ball milling. =20
