In April of 2004, MudFire Gallery in Atlanta Georgia will host
Teapots-A-Go-Go 2, our redux of last years successfull national teapot
exhibit and sale.
Below is the prospectus and application information. There is no other more
formal document, this is it!
The show is a mix of juried and invitational work. Last year over 90
artists were included from around the country. All work must be original
and should have clay as the primary medium. This show is a celebration of
limitless personal expression and all entries are welcome, whether wild or
subtle! Full tea sets are welcome too.
Timelines
January 24 Submissions for consideration due
February 1 Artists notified if accepted
February 24 Hi res digital art of teapot actually in the show, or very
similar, is due for postcard
April 8 Teapots to be received at MudFire by this date
April 16 Show opening and artist reception
May 15 Show closes
Note that attending the artist reception and sending digital art for the
postcard and website are both optional.
Basic information
-Artist commission is 60% of retail price
-There is no fee for submitting an entry or participating in the show
-Artist is responsible for shipping & insurance to MudFire
-Accepted artists must supply check for $15 per teapot for return shipping &
insurance
-Shipping checks will be returned with commission check for work that sells
-Teapots that are not functional should be clearly indicated as "decorative"
-Participating artists will receive a limited number of show postcards for
their records
-Gallery will mail cards to artist's mailing list for Georgia addresses
-Artists may show as many as 3 teapots at the gallery's discretion
-The show is open to artists residing within the US
How to Apply
We prefer: send digital images via email (less than 200Kb per mail) to
MudFire at info@mudfire.com.
Otherwise: send photos, or (least desirably) slides to MudFire Pottery,
1441 Dresden Drive, Suite 250, Atlanta, GA 30319. Include a SASA for
return of photos or slides.
Please send images of actual works that would be in the show, or work that
is very similar
Please describe the dimensions, a few words on processes and materials, and
retail price, for each image.
Please also include your website address, artist resume, artist statement,
any other relevant information.
