de-lurking for kiln help (dawson kiln sitter)

Before you use the Dawson Kiln Sitter, it should be adjusted with the firing
gauge (a small metal disk with a hole in the center).

With most kilns, the small cone in the Kiln Sitter should be one cone hotter
than the witness cone on the shelf. This is because the weight of the
sensing rod makes the Kiln Sitter cone bend a little sooner. The witness
cone on the shelf is a more accurate way to determine firing maturity than
the cone in the Kiln Sitter.

The Limit Timer should be set to about 30 minutes longer than the expected
firing time.

You will find instructions for the Dawson Kiln Sitter in Paragon's A & B
Series Instruction and Service Manual. You can download it at this link:

I know that if Im firing to ^06 I need to put a junior ^06 in the kiln =
sitter. But on the witness cones do I put up a ^05 and ^06 or ^06 and =
^07 ?
How do I know how to set up the fire time on the dial ?
