Porcelain Pottery, Altered
With Silvie Granatelli

Nationally known potter Silvie Granatelli will share her thoughts, ideas =
and methods in creating her elegant and very personal functional porcelain =
pottery.=20
Silvie's pottery is about food presentation and the giving and receiving =
of thanks. Her aim is to create mood and atmosphere through her tableware. =
In this workshop she will demonstrate both throwing and altering =
porcelain forms as well as a variety of surface techniques, such as slip =
trailing, carving and colored stain drawing on green ware.
Silvie Granatelli is a functional ware potter and educator now living in =
Floyd, Virginia. She received a BFA from Kansas State Art Institute and a =
MFA from Montana State University. Recipient of a Virginia Museum =
Fellowship, she teaches part-time at Virginia Tech and has conducted many =
workshops around the country including Penland School of Arts and Crafts =
in NC, Arrowmont School for Crafts in TN and Archie Bray Foundation in =
Montana. Her work can be seen in numerous ceramic books and publications.
