With Alfredo Ratinoff

Join master artist Alfredo Ratinoff as he demonstrates a variety of =
different techniques in creating ceramic tiles. Alfredo will demonstrate =
methods on how to make clay tiles without a slab roller and a variety of =
surface decoration techniques including scraffito and plaster stamps. He =
will show participants how to decorate commercial tiles, design tiles for =
architectural spaces and installation of finished tiles. Information on =
clay bodies, firing temperatures and schedules will be covered. This =
workshop is a perfect overview of tile making for the novice and a great =
source of information for the experienced tile maker. =20
Alfredo Ratinoff was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied at the =
National School of Ceramics in Buenos Aires, and then in Madrid, Barcelona,=
and Florence. He has been an Arlington resident for over 10 years and =
now resides in Washington, DC. He specializes in large murals and has =
been commissioned extensively throughout the U.S. and by major corporations=
