Good morning!

Just a followup on my question about the L&L J23 and J230 kilns. Stephen Lewicki at L&L was kind enough to help me with my questions, so I thought I'd share the answers:

The J23 (23" w x 18" d) fires to Cone 5 (an optional powered bottom can be added to exceed Cone 5)
The J230 (23" x 27") fires to Cone 10
The J230 becomes a J23 when one ring is removed; thus, with only two rings it would not reach my needed Cone 8.

He recommended that I consider the more powerful Easy-Fire E28T (28" w x 18" d) to get more space without adding to the loading depth. (Being a first-timer, the "easy" part certainly appeals!)

Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone for your help. This group is always amazingly generous with their insights and time.

Best to all!
