Everyone,
I may be all set. Apparently Creative Industries acquired spinning tiger and the drive wheel should be available from them or Botega.net. Sent e-mails off to both and have CI's phone number, and will try to reach them Monday so I think I can get my hands on a replacement to fix the wheel.
So if the archives are right I should be all set with this.
Thanks,
S

Hello everyone,
I have an old Spinning Tiger potter's wheel that needs a replacement friction drive wheel. Back in the early - mid '90's there was someone who advertised in Ceramics Monthly that he had replacement drive wheels for this machine. Usually ad was in the back of the magazine and only about 1" in height.
Does anyone know who this might be? Is it one of you?
Please feel free to contact me off list.
(Also, please don't pick on me for what an awful wheel this is! I only want to use it because it is so light weight and good for quick demos.)

Susan,
Way back in 1996, my partner and I moved to Yonkers (anyone on this=20
list remember when I was "Jonathan in Yonkers"?) and found a Spinning=20
TIger wheel without a drive belt in the basement of our first apartment=20=
in a shared house owned by the Zen community. I discovered that the=20
wide blue rubber band found around broccoli that one bought in the=20
supermarket fit just perfectly as a drive band. I had no other wheel,=20=
we had no money (just out of graduate school), and one blue broccoli=20
rubber band would last for several hours of throwing. I threw pots,=20
the two of us ate a lot of broccoli, and that Christmas I made enough=20
money to pay cash for the Pacifica that I still have!
Spinning Tiger launched my career!
