Hi, this was in the January issue of Ceramics Monthly.
Albany slip. It's the real thing! The last load from the original mine. =
Make those great Albany slip glazes again, from Cone 6 to 11. At Cone =
10-11, it fires a deep glossy brown. For further information, contact =
the Great American Wheel Works, in New York, at (518) 756-2368; e-mail =
tflitto@msn.com.
Don't know the quality or make up of this product. Just passing along =

I emailed the folks who have the ad in CM. As I recall
the stuff is about $5 per pound. Add your shipping on that
and you might want to check out David Hendley's Albany Slip
substitute.

Check out some of the Alberta Slip glazes I have been
working on lately at www.ceramicmaterial.info.
Log in as visitor and search for the word alberta
in the recipe area.
I have lots of pictures. There are some stunning glazes
here. I have done some of these with Albany and they
look the same. The current Alberta slip also fires the
same except it produces a more glaze with more shrinkage.
I am working on formulating a new version of Alberta Slip
material that has a lower plasticity. This stuff is better
than Albany in my opinion because it is a blend and will
be consistent.
