this was the first ever cone 6 glaze base i tested. i used it for about
a year with several color variations and it was fair. it pinholed quite
a bit if applied too thick and i went to ron roy for help. he upped the
boron (increased melt) by revising the reciped using frit 3134 instead
of 3124.

v.c. 72 is also the same base as xavier's warm jade green (out of
cushings handbook) the revised recipe is available on john
hesselberth's website www.frogpondpottery.com along with a picture. i
currently use this base for 3 of my standard glazes and it is fabulous.

funny...i was just talking to another potter last night and pointed out
that every one of the glazes in my palette is from ron roy or mastering
cone 6 glazes by he and john with the exception of pete pinnell's
weathered bronze green. my oh my where would i be without these two??

holler if you have any questions.
take care.
