Chris,
Regarding Curtis Benzle and the issue of cracks, the question is: "what
is novel about his approach"? In Japan, they have been doing exactly
this for ages. Many people just leave the cracks alone, if they do not
impair function or aesthetic concerns. Sometimes the cracks add to the
work. Bennet Bean, myself and numerous others have experimented
extensively with crack stabilization, repair and enhancement for
decades. Dotting the i and crossing the t , like dealing effectively
with cracks, is attention to detail, an admirable trait.
Cheers,
