Hello All
I am pretty excited my first electric kiln has arrived today.
I am so close to having a complete studio set-up.
Personally I love Shino's and only have access to a gas kiln
at work. Some day I will get a gas, but for now its electric.

Connie Christensen's work is amazing. Love it.

I have some questions:

First: Why do we only use three kiln posts instead of four,
Is is to use less posts or is three more stable than four
(I wouldn't think so)

Second: Does anyone have a really good cone 6 black, that
does not have manganese in it and possible uses Alberta Slip
as the base recipe? I have tried several recipes but find most
of them are turning a light green on me where applied thin or
around edges. Then when applied thick I get blistering. I would
like to try some more tests.

Oh and about heating up propane, a building next door to my work
just blew up last week because of a leaky propane tank. That
was quite a scare for us, but I feel bad for the people inside that building.
There is nothing left of that building, cinder blocks, twisted metal, stuff
everywhere.
Yikes! That just made me even more nervous about starting up the old Raku
kiln.
