Hi...

I was at a clay conference this past weekend and got lured back to clayart.

We're interested in building a small test wood kiln and were wondering if
anyone out there had a tried and true (and hopefully economical) recipe for
some castable.

Also if anyone has any recommendations or plans for such a kiln, please send
them along as well.

Thanks very much!

I used this design to bisque my student work to put in my
teacher's noborigama. Mine is about half the length of this one. I
don't think all the grate bricks are necessary, just a bar, or one set
of brick in front.

Also, I've been thinking about making a half-sized version of my
main wood-kiln to bisque and do experimental yohen firing in. You can
see the plans here: http://potters.blogspot.com

Hi Anne,
Are you interested in firing your proposed kiln with a Bourry box fire =20=

box ?
If you are, you may be interested in my book Laid back Wood Firing.
In Laid Back Wood Firing there are 58 pages, 40 colour illustrations, =20=

12 kiln plans, + CD with 120=A0 colour images.
The kiln plans, ranging from small to large
with directions on how to handle the firing proceedure.
You can check it out at the web site URL below. There is also a review =20=

by Leonard Smith at
