When I notice shelves that are warped from firings I usually see that there
has not been enough posts to prevent warping when the shelves are stacked
into the kiln. Everyone likes to get as many pots in the kiln as possible
but to the expense of having nice shelves warp is not the way to go.
On a 12" X 24" Thorley shelf for example, going to cone 10+, I always use 6
posts.
