Have 2 - 29" kilns at school that are used for bisque and cone 6
glaze firings. Have 2 sets of corderite shelves. 1 set is 3/4" half
octagon half shelves, the other set is 5/8" half round shelves. The
3/4" shelves are rather heavy, had them for 10 years - no
warping/bending. Got the 5/8" shelves to help save my back, had them
4 years, definite deflection showing in them.
If you are using larger shelves and firing to cone 6+, you have to
use the thicker corderite, or get something like the Advancer
shelves, if you want to go thinner.
