This from E.Cooper's "Electric Kiln Pottery"

Debbie Shapiro, Sung Yellow, Orton c.6-8

Cornwall Stone 73
whiting 16
Neph. Sy., 4
Gerstley Borate or calcium borate frit 7
Vanadium Yellow stain 4

(She offers Uranium oxide as an alternate to Vanadium I have used plain =
Mason yellow stains.)

Cooper writes " This is an excellent base glaze. At c. 6 it crazes =
slightly, is is smooth at c.8 and slightly flinty."

I have added 8% bentonite to use it raw, and I have played around with =
tin in it.

This backs my opinion that "we' do not use Cornwall nearly enough esp. =
in c.6--neat neat ingredient.
