The Way Of The Free-Thinking Man was the title of a television program
done about this potter.

This guy does some amazing stuff with a charcoal stove and a hair
dryer. I think you could substitute s simple structure made of brick
to replace the stove. Maybe softbrick. It is truely amazing.
There are over 100 web pages of photos (I stopped counting at 100):

You can use babelfish to translate: http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr

This page shows how he bisques: http://www.yorii.or.jp/~nakajima/sub09.htm

The documentation of the experiments are awesome, really. In the photos you can see him bisquing 9 tea bowls at a time and the bisque take less than two hours.

If you have trouble viewing these go here: http://potters.blogspot.com/ The first photos are the pots being bisqued on an open grate. the 4th view is the enclosed glaze firing and the last photo is the finished pots.
