Duly reprimanded, I will not discuss non-matching sox, why I always am =
the one to clean the crumbs out of the toaster, and what are the chances =
of my finding an adult declawed female Maine coon cat at the Shelter!

But I confess I have no idea why tires (a.k.a. tyres) are NOT =
clay-related. If we all ate off the floor Judy Chicago would not have =
made her famous dinner set. If we did not eat canned food, Andi Warhol =
would have been up a souffl=E9 dish....Who knows what great sculpture =
won't be inspired by the White Rose Filling Station exchange? =20

Anyway. Helayne. Did you recently buy either new clay or new glaze =
ingredients? Is this the same old batch of glaze you used last time, or =
a new batch? Did you use a witness cone? What is the recipe of your =
glaze? If I had to take a stab in the dark, it sounds like =
underfiring....

Ah, oilcloth. Joy of my youth. What formed the mind better than shrill =
loud arguments o ver scalding tea, at a kitchen table covered with =
slightly sticky, slightly smelly, slightly cracked oil cloth?

And I still think that styrofoam picnic coolers with or without a damp =
cloth in a cup in a corner make great dampboxes.

BUT MIGHT PAM OR SIMILAR SPRAYED ON HANDLES REDUCE THEIR TOO QUICK =
DRYING PROPERLY? =20

Amen to that! They are also great for storing bags of clay. I lucked
onto about a half dozen large styrofoam coolers a couple years ago that
were being thrown away here at work. Nobody wanted them! Okay, so they
call me the office pack rat now, but I have also never had to buy
bubblewrap! Make friends with the guys in the mailroom and you can save
on a lot of "supplies" like bubblewrap and cardboard boxes, etc. that
are headed for the dumpster.
