Hi All,
I thought you might get a hoot out of this: I carved a large clay head
about the time I finished high school, but never bisque fired it or glazed
it. When I left home, my mother stored it in the attic. She returned it to
me a few years ago, and yesterday I finally bisque fired it to cone 06.
I graduated from high school in 1964, so it's been about 40 years of
drying time. This should be some sort of new world record. (I also have a
box I packed in 1969 when I moved to California that I still haven't
unpacked.)
I guess sometimes I'm a little slow. Anybody else?

You beat mine! I had a teacher bring in a vase with a date carved in
it from the 70s. They were getting ready to renovate the school
building and found the piece in the art room with only one small chip
in the rim. Came through the bisk just fine. Not sure what they did
with it afterwards.
