Here I am with my thumb out, looking to hitch a ride. My
friends/traveling companions from Toledo are coming home from NCECA on
friday night, but I don't want to miss festivities -- or Betty Woodman.
And my savvy roomie Lori Leary has booked our room 'til saturday..
somebody said words like, "swimming pool" and "hot tub." I am in no
hurry to get home ;0) Mommy doesn't get a lot of days off (or, come to
think of it, overtime.. lunch breaks.. sick days.. hey, is there a
mommy's union?)
I will happily wedge myself between piles of books, clay tools and new
equipment on the ride. I do not smoke but have been known to tell long,
pointless stories. Will shut up upon request. Would prefer a car with
seatbelts, and a reasonably sober driver with at least one good eye.
(Otherwise would be happy to be designated driver.)
I live a stone's throw from the highway and anyone headed for Ann Arbor
could just about wave on the way by my house.. thus could drop me off
without much of a side trip. I will happily pitch in for gas, and will
do my best not to spend every penny at NCECA.
Yours, Kelly in Ohio.. last class at the guild tonight, raku with my
students in the snow... they love the immediate gratification of raku
but my lungs can't hack it, fume respirator or no...

Hey Kelly,
I just sent the note below to Clayart but wanted to make sure you get
it. I'll be rooming with you , by the way. You may indeed be wedged
in, but I love long pointless stories. It'll be fun having you along.

Well, Hi Clayarters, after all this time. I screwed up and renamed an
application on Apple (don't ever, EVER re-name an application on
Apple!) and all hell broke loose. It was akin to trying to fool Mother
Nature, with a VENGENACE. To make a long story short, I was
computer-less for some time, lost some important stuff, ground lots of
fillings out of my teeth and pulled out lots of hair. When I finally
got back, I had well over six thousand messages, and my mail program
said I was too full to be able to function ---i.e. delete, and too full
to accept more mail! It was all nearly my undoing.
So I've missed a lot and missed you all, but will see some of you in
Indianapolis, and yes, Kelly, I can give you a ride, and thank goodness
I'll be rooming with Lori and Kelly (of the Primal-variety) so they
will catch me up on all the threads and pissing contests (oops, sorry,
Mel), and I'm anxious to hug all my friends, and I hope you at least
have a faint recollection of me!
Thanks to you all for being you!
