Hi again.
Yes it's busy day for me today ;)
I am trying to organize a trip to La Borne in France with my fellow students here in Brussels.
Have any of you been there? Is there any advice as to what is a "must see", who to talk to......... etc.
Also any advice as to accomodations.
I have been reading a lot about the place and also gotten some advice from my teacher. They have a lot of wood kilns and I think it is a place that I have to see while I am here in Belgium so close to it.
Iben

Hi:
I few years ago I spent a week in La Borne; it is a small, friendly village
and you can just wander--go from studio to studio to see what you can.
There are some modest acomodations (gites) but there is also a hotel in a
nearby town.
There are a couple of good restaurants available but mostly, the ability to
see so many operations and talk to the potters will thrill your students (and
you too!) There is a potters' museum and a town museum as well which will
explain the history of finding clay in the area and the reasons for potters moving
there.

The local tourist bureau can also probalby help you.

I got my first recommendation from Steve Mills of Bath Potters Supply and it
was a very good one.

Good luck.

Write to the
La Borne Potters Association,
La Borne,

Henrichemont,
France.

It is an amazing place, but you need to be organised to see it properly.
