Naprosyn is the prescription brand name and naproxen sodium is the generic. No need to pay for the prescription; the generic works just as well.

Just be careful about naprosyn. I took a lot of it for a couple years and
ended up with gastritis and an ulcer, and was nauseated almost constantly
for 2 years. A doctor told me once every time you take an NSAID (aspirin,
naprosyn, etc) it takes off a little piece of your stomach. I guess so,
because by the time I was scoped they said I had no folds in my stomach
which are supposed to be there. Now I can't swear that the damage was from
the naprosyn, ulcers are usually bacterial. But it doesn't hurt to be a
little more careful.
There is something you can take with NSAIDS that help reduce stomach damage.
I can't for the life of me remember what now but it will come to me. I
believe there is a drug that bundles the NSAID with this other stuff. I
will let you know when I find it.
