wheel and kiln advice

I recently sent a post about a problem I=92m having with my new wheel. I got=

back a couple of responses, but I=92m thinking it may have been lost during
the recent list problems, or that maybe I misunderstand exactly how this
works. Anyway, decided to give it another go now that I need some more
advice.

I bought a wheel recently (my first) that moves slightly up and down on
the outside edge. The company sent me a new wheel head, but it did not
solve the problem. I didn=92t mention the company because they are making an=

effort to correct the problem but the convention and my confusion over
whether I was worrying about nothing - has made the process long and
painful. I=92ve figured out that I=92m not happy with the design of the whee=
l
and after researching further want to exchange it for a Pacifica GT800.
Any thoughts on this wheel or suggestions of other preferences would be
appreciated.

Also, I=92ve just about decided on the L & L Easy-Fire e23t for my kiln. Any=

feedback about this kiln or a different one would also be appreciated. I=92m=

in Houston, TX so if anyone has some advice on building a kiln shed in a
city that=92s practically at sea-level and extremely humid would be great.

One last thing, I want to try firing in an oil drum. I read one place that
they don=92t give off any more smoke than an outdoor barbeque, but I=92ve be=
en
told that=92s crazy. As I wrote I=92m in the city but on a recent visit to N=
ew
Orleans I visited two gallery/studios where they raku on Magazine street -
a busy street with lots of foot traffic. Again, any info would be great.

Thanks in advance.
