Walter McConnell comes to UF Ceramics next Monday March 29th and Tuesday
March 30th.
Walter McConnell is a nationally recognized installation sculptor and NY
artist who is on the faculty at Alfred University. He is noted for
"tented wet clay installations" which deal with environmental issues.
You may have seen his most recent installation at the NCECA St.
Patrick's Church group installation show in Indianapolis. An article on
his work can be found on the web:
Walter has agreed to demonstrate his building techniques and to create a
vignette sized installation. He does not always build for a workshop but
has graciously agreed to do so for us. This will be a wonderful
opportunity for you and your students.
The schedule is:
Monday March 29th: 9-12 Workshop Demo
12-1:15 Pot Luck Lunch with the artist (please bring
something to share)
1:30-4 Workshop Demo Continues

Tuesday March 30th 9-12 Workshop wrap up

Hope to see you there,
Nan
