Any suggestions on how to best clean out a bluebird 440 pug mill completely? How much disassembly should I do? I'm changing clays and don't want to mix the different cone levels. We're also in the process of moving so I need it completely clean for packing.

It is really not that difficult to take apart the 440 bluebird....the only
issue is it is time consuming to clean it. I spend several hours doing it when
I switch it over from stoneware to Porcelain and really you need to put a big
tray under it and scrape it down before sponging...the vacuum chamber is a
bit trickier to clean without getting "gunk" in the airtube....be careful not to
scrape around the sealing areas of the air chamber....after 17 yrs of
cleaning I erroded the seal and took me a while to realize why it was not pulling a
vacuum.....
Honestly the hole thing has to be take apart to do it right....
good luck
