This is my letter to the "Glaze Guru" of http://ceramics.lifetips.com/
I hope he will solve my problem.
If not I will try to adjust it myself or just dump it.
=======================================
I tried to make the glaze you had offered me and it did not mature in
^03
Because I have glaze software I wrote there your recipe
MOSSY GREEN 03

From my limit knowledge it looks like it is a high fire glaze. Am I
right?
Do I have to do something with my kiln?
Thanks

This glaze will certainly not melt at o3 - or at cone 6 - I don't think it
will melt properly at 8 either.
It is a matte glaze - very short of silica so not acceptable as a liner
glaze for functional work.
What kind of Guru did you he say he was?

They did not answer me
But you can be a guru yourself they have an offer to anyone to be a guru
I think anyone that can steal glazes and ideas from different archives!

Dear Ababi,
For some reason or other you have the group 1 alkali elements listed
twice in the Seger Formula/Weight.
But this looks like a very high fire recipe to me. Sixty four parts of
refractory substances with only a high potash felspar as the melting
agent would push it into the cone 10 range
To get it to melt at cone three would need a big dollop of borate
frit.
Was something omitted?
Best regards,
Ivor Lewis. Redhill, South Australia
