Over 20 years ago I started using an engobe recipe by Daniel Rhodes

Flint 20
Kaolin 25
Ball Clay 25 (#10 Tenn. ball)
feldspar 20
Borax 5
Zircopax 5 (added only for lighter colors)
plus colorants

about 15 years ago I had some problems with it crawling at cone 6
After trying numerous things we settled on the following

EPK 26
#10 Tenn Ball 32
Neph Sy 16
flint 26
plus colorants

It's applied while the clay is wet , sometimes still on the wheel.
Recently this started to peel up from the clay in the bisque fire. It seems
especially bad where thick and thicker is better for some colors.

Any ideas ?

Thanks, D <><

Deflocc it with Darvan 7 for starters - then start replacing the EPK with
calcined kaolin if the problem persists.
