Sorry, but this new guy on the block doesn't know what this Vinegar =
testing is.
Can some be so kind as to explain the process?

Hi John,
Take a test tile and soak half of it in vinegar for 3 days. Then rinse
and dry it. Let it air dry for a few more minutes. Carefully examine
it. If the glaze that has been in vinegar has changed in sheen, but not
color it is marginally stable and further testing may be warranted. If
the color has faded in any noticeable way the glaze is very unstable
and should not be used on functional work.
More details and lots of additional ways to test your pottery for
suitability for use are given in Ron's and my book, Mastering Cone 6
Glazes. So far, I think we are the only authors to address issues like
this.
