Gayle, Your response, and those of Wayne, Ron, Daniel and Ivor, well
answered Susan's concern and my comment by addressing how to retain some
decorative functionality in a disabled pot.

It has a lot to do with the intent of the shape of a 'functional' pot as
well. Some things just look like they're made for food or drink. Others are
either more mysterious or obviously inappropriate. Not that one needs to say
"put daisies in here," but just a negative approbation isn't all that
helpful or welcome.

I hadn't thought of a baggie for some of those odd-shaped things. Very neat,

Kathy....
Not exactly true.
A plastic insert makes a raku
vase very functional.
I have used plastic in my ^5 vases
but that is because they are display
pieces and I don't want to sell a vase
with gunk in the bottom of it.
A plastic water bottle with the
spout cut off works great.

So drill your Raku and display it too.
