Hi Everyone,

Having just last week mixed up a large batch of Rosie's Red (aka Randy's
Red) with Gerstley Borate, I am wondering why you want it without Gerstley
Borate. I know that for awhile it was thought that it might not be available
much longer but we can certainly get it now. I had a big bag of it.

I fired the other day and most of the pieces that I did in Rosie's Red are
really gorgeous with lots of red. One I don't like so well - it was nice but
had a green side to it - I wonder if this is because it was close to the
element on that side or if the glaze was just thin on that side.

This is a glaze that I used to use years ago and my daughter loves it and
requested it for some pots I am making for her. Now I am wondering if it is
food safe especially for a teapot.

Please excuse my ignorance. I have been away from pottery for some time and
have a lot to learn.

Thanks, Lowell Ann
