Well folks, I adjusted my Shimpo pedal from being way to stiff to bring
purrrfect. But don't do it the way I did: I saw the washers on the side
and just figured I'd try to loosen them, figuring they were probably
like those on the Pacifica: there to adjust tension...I ended up with a
wheel that wouldn't turn on !
Right way: call Shimpo at 800-237-7079. I had to leave a message but
they got back to me right away. The tech person will talk you through
taking apart your pedal in order to adjust the tension. It helped to
have a way to use the phone hands free. I used the speakerphone in my
cordless. You need 2 wrenches, one for the nuts one one side and one
for the bolt on the other. Also you need a set of allen wrenches and a
small philips head screw driver. I had a bit of trouble loosening the 2
interior bolts with the allen wrench, but holding it with a vise grip
helped....
It ended up that the tech guy I talked to was one of the potters
demoing the wheels in the Shimpo booth at NCECA. Very
patient......Geez, I had to find all those tools really quick. I
PROMISE to keep all my tools in one place from now on,,,, now where? I
could make a special place,, let's see.........I know! MY TOOLBOX. oh
brother..... :-(
