I was recently asked what causes a glaze to splatter and was unable to
answer their question. Years ago I had a glaze that splattered but don't
remember the glaze or the conditions. Obviously the glaze is boiling
vigorously but what chemicals and conditions contribute to it?

Any material that boils violently - gerstley borate is the first that
