And I am so bummed! I leave for NC vacation and won't be in CT, otherwise I
would be there. I am so close to Canton Clay Works, am an Extruder fanatic
and always wanted to do something - anything with wood firing. I am so
disappointed that there's just no way I can do it. Any other time of year,
wild horses wouldn't keep me away.
David - please forgive me for not being in attendance. (Know that I want to
be. Of course, I want to stay married, too, and I just can't do both. Sorry,
but my spouse of 28 years wins - no he wouldn't understand - not this.)

That's right David Hendley is coming to Connecitcut for a workshop at the
Canton Clay Works. "Wood Fired Doesn't Mean Brown" is what they are
calling it. David will be providing the recipes for his colorful slip-
glazes and showing his techniques. We will be loading and firing Canton
Clay Works new (1 yr old) nabori-gama wood/salt kiln. While the kiln cools
down, David will be doing a one day extruder workshop (all part of the wood
firing workshop)demostrating his creative use of the extruder. June 25,
26, for demo's, loading and firing the kiln. The 27th will be the extruder
day and the 28th will be used for unloading the kiln. Should be an
exciting information packed four days.
Canton Clay Works is located about 12 miles outside of Hartford in the
beautiful northwest hills. Be sure to check out David's webisite
(Farmpots) and also the Canton Clay works site.

Hope to see some of you there,

I recommend that anyone in that area make a point to get to the David Hendley
Workshop! Not only is he extremely generous with his knowledge on clay, but
he's also a real nice guy to meet and know. He can make just about anything
including houses, extruders, and cell phones ;)
